Cro Cop! UFC Undisputed

Cro Cop, UFC Heavyweight, is fighting former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir tonight and I cannot wait, hopefully we will see a win for the croatian tonight. Not the greatest matchup for him, seeing as Mir is something of a submission artist and he has no ground game, but nevermind.

Played it a few times on my PS3, won all the times with Mir, but they made Crocop ridiculously awful on the game, with his only good stat being leg standup.

PC gaming

I have never really gamed on my PC before, other than a bit of Age Of Empires action now and then when I was younger. I know that the PC gamers are pretty adamant that PC is better than consoles for gaming, because of the mouse allowing more precise shooting, and building computers which run the game better and better.
The laptop I am getting will hopefully allow me to play some games on it, obviously it would struggle horrifically with Crysis but I think it would handle Black Ops quite well.
Is there anything I need to get for it, like a gaming mouse or anything? It will be wierd pressing keys instead of buttons and moving with arrow keys will be so clunky but I am sure I will get used to it.

Assassin's Creed and other unconventionals

I bought assassin's creed 1 for my 360 when it came out and was hooked instantly, sure the missions were incredibly repetitive but the assassinations and storyline was so gripping I could not put it down. I have not even played assassin's creed 2 yet however I am informed that it is a big improvement on the original and I can't wait to play it, I might even get it on PC (if it is even on there :S).

This is relevant because of the upcoming third installment in the series, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which sports one of the coolest trailers for any game, ever. Period. I will probably do another post some time on my favourite trailers and ads but meh, this one is awesome. The assassins are just swaggering through dozens of guards scaring the shit out of the enemy leader (no idea who he is yet as I am a bit out of date with the storyline :(.

I am definitely going to be picking up other unconventional games like Portal 2, Mirror's Edge etc. as they all have brilliant storylines and challenging, engaging gameplay which is refreshing when you fall into the rut of just getting extremely good on a FPS like call of duty.

Check it out guys and remember to follow/comment/whatever, thanks.

Xbox unreliability ;_;

Yes, the time has come for my xbox. Turned it on yesterday and it was being wierd so I restarted it and oh dear! E74 ERROR glares at me in a dozen different languages. Thankfully microsoft has had the good grace to provide a 3-year warranty extension for xbox's afflicted with this error, so it should be up and running again in a couple of months.

Sadly this is not my first xbox to break on me. My first one ever stopped reading discs and was out of warranty so is useless, i'm not even sure why I haven't thrown it out. Probably something to do with the good memories on there.

Its crazy how many xboxs do break, I read a statistic that said it was almost 30% which is staggering for a £200 machine. It probably goes to show that microsoft rushed it out to beat the PS3, and is a bit shady of them, but hey, who is going to sue microsoft?

Probably getting that gaming laptop sooner now .......    :)

Gaming Laptop

I have had my old laptop (Compaq Presario) for 4 years now and I feel it is getting a bit slow, so I am going to buy a new one within the next month, though am unsure what to get. I want a £550-£700 laptop, so a budget of around 1000 dollars, though it is hard to stay in this boundary since the cool stuff is all very expensive.

Dell's gorgeous looking laptop customization is an extra £40, more RAM (which I love) is £90, etc. etc. It is a shame I can not buy a desktop but my life is too mobile for one, since they are far more powerful for the price.
I will probably buy one with gaming capabilities since I want to play HD games and movies on it, and may do away with my console (Please release Reach on PC soon microsoft..)

Drop me a message If anyone knows any good deals on laptops at the moment, Peace.

Evolution of Gaming, Xbox and PS3.

I'd like to talk about the evolution of gaming. What I mean by this is the trends shown among newly released games. Among the Xbox, more and more titles are focussing their content on the multiplayer market, for example games like UFC undisputed would normally have been exclusively single-player while now has quite a lot of multiplayer content. Games like call of duty have always had multiplayer as their strength and so it is natural for them to stay this way. More and more games are coming out which are meant for live, and clearly this is because it is what people want.

My tastes in gaming have gone full circle. Now i enjoy a quiet bit of halo wars or campaign over stressful online play, but maybe that is my age catching up with me (20s..)..

I can't wait for the next step in gaming which I believe is the increasing immersion of the player into the game. This will start with 3D being on games, probably the PS3 first judging by what Sony are releasing. With the next generation consoles estimated in 2015 I hope to have a far more engaging and immersive experience then tapping buttons, hopefully it will be more like virtual reality though I know that was prophesised years ago and still has yet to come to fruition.

Remember to follow guys thanks, Rob.

Halo Reach

Though I am probably more inclined to the call of duty series, the incredible storyline spanning several games has me hooked and I will definitely be picking up the latest installment: Halo Reach. I am excited by the trailers for the campaign shown, however it has been ruined somewhat for me by an incredibly loud and rude person on the tube, who ruined the ending for me while talking to his friend. I was comically trying to block out noise but, alas, it is ruined.

The thought of more than one spartan running around on my television is incredibly exciting, as in most of the halo series (disregarding Wars) Master Chief is the sole surviving Spartan.

Hopefully the multiplayer is good although it does look like they have ripped off Call of Duty quite a lot with the experience system and classes etc. Though I do not like games being too similar, the multiplayer rankings on Halo 3 were far too strange and broken to be usable for me, with 'boosters' and exploiters everywhere.

It is pleasing to see a game return to it's roots as Halo: Reach has, with health-based survival and the like, and I can't wait. Trailer below, remember to follow :)
